| "Take any words in the New Testament and forget everything except
pledging yourself to act accordingly. My God, you will say, if I do
that my life will be ruined," Soren Kierkegaard, Nineteenth-Century Danish Philosopher.
John 13:33-35 (English Standard Version)
33Little children,(A) yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just(B) as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, 'Where I am going you cannot come.' 34(C) A new commandment(D) I give to you,(E) that you love one another:(F) just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35(G) By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

| I was talking with a friend of mine today. We spoke of government and taxes. We spoke of the poor and the rich. We spoke of what is convenient and what is important. This is what really struck me today, I came to the realization that Americans focus so much on what is inconvenient that we don't focus on what is important. This applies to home life, to politics, and to our overall approach to the world. Instead of focusing on starving children, we focus on how we can get more tax breaks. Instead of focusing on the babies being murdered by abortion, we argue about whether or not we should be able to burn the American Flag. I believe that in focusing on those things which are less important, we as Americans lose focus on what really matters. These are just my thoughts for the day.
As an afterthought, I don't believe that burning flags isn't a serious issue but is of less importance when compared to many of the other problems we have in our country. We should give our attention to those most serious of problems and then we can focus on those problems which are of less importance or impact.
I probably didn't do a very good job of vocalizing and putting down what I was thinking. This was more of an incoherent rant than anything.
God bless,
Ian

| Hey everyone, long time no see (on Xanga anyways). Life has been normal the last couple of weeks. There are a few events though that are bringing some change. Two of my friends were in a car accident yesterday. The car was totalled but thankfully one of my friend only broke her clavicle and twisted her ankle with some minor bruises, and the other one just got bruised up. They both are pretty shook up but I think they'll both be fine. Also, two of my best friends in the world are leaving for a bit of time. One is leaving to go to Japan tomorrow, he'll be gone a month. He's going there just to have an experience. Then he'll only be back a month before he leaves to go to college far, far away. My other friend has roughly a month left before he leaves to go to boot camp. He'll be back in october on leave before he starts on active duty for the next four years. In other news, I took my dog to the vet today and he's perfectly healthy. That is it for now.
God bless,
Ian

| Salve! My life has been going well lately. We finally finished everything I needed to do with the bank yesterday and I was finally able to get my truck. It's a great vehicle and I feel really blessed to have it. My trip to Branson last weekend was really fun. We fished, went to Silver Dollar City, drove around the town, and generally just had a good time. I looking forward to Summer Zoe at church this summer, Summer Zoe is the worship program at Church Sunday nights over the summer. Work seems to be going well too. Well God bless.
